Getting There

• Bus from Kathmandu to Barabise

  Start your journey in Kathmandu by taking a bus to Barabise. Buses leave regularly from the Gongabu Bus Park. The journey takes approximately 6-8 hours, so be sure to leave early in the morning. The cost is around NPR 800 to NPR 1200 depending on the bus service.

• Jeep from Barabise to Gongar

  Upon reaching Barabise, you can catch a local jeep to Gongar, which is the last motorable point near Rolwaling Valley. The jeep ride takes about 2-3 hours and costs around NPR 500 to NPR 700 per person. Be prepared for a bumpy ride, as the roads can be rough.

• Trek from Gongar to Samde Rock Climbing Spot

  From Gongar, you will need to trek to the Samde Rock climbing spot. The trek will take approximately 5-6 hours. Follow the trail that leads through the lush green forests and alongside the river. Make sure to carry sufficient water and snacks, as there are limited facilities along the way.
