If you are traveling by car from Upper Mustang, first head towards Jomsom. From Jomsom, take the road leading to Pokhara. After approximately 40 kilometers, you will reach the town of Sarangkot. Follow the signs to Sarangkot View Point. The drive will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions. Parking is available near the viewpoint, but it may incur a small fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Sarangkot View Point using public transportation, start by taking a local bus or jeep from Upper Mustang to Jomsom. The bus ride typically takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. From Jomsom, you will need to catch another bus or a shared jeep heading towards Pokhara. Alight at the Sarangkot stop, which is well-marked. The total travel time may take around 3 to 4 hours, including waiting times. Once you arrive at Sarangkot, you can either walk up to the viewpoint or hire a local taxi for convenience.
Hiking
For the adventurous, you can hike to Sarangkot View Point from nearby villages. If you are in the vicinity of Pokhara, start your hike from the Lakeside area, and follow the trail signs to Sarangkot. The hike is approximately 4-5 kilometers and can take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Be sure to bring water and snacks, as there are limited facilities along the trail.
