If you have access to a private vehicle in Upper Mustang, the most direct route to Pokhara is by taking the road that leads to Jomsom. From Jomsom, head towards the East following the road signs pointing to Pokhara. The journey will take approximately 8 to 10 hours, depending on road conditions. Make sure to fill up your fuel tank in Jomsom as there are limited refueling options along the way. The scenic drive will take you through beautiful landscapes and small villages.

From Upper Mustang, you will first need to travel to Jomsom. You can hire a jeep or take a local bus if available. Once in Jomsom, you can catch a public bus to Pokhara. Buses leave several times a day and the journey typically takes around 8-9 hours. It is advisable to buy your bus ticket a day in advance, and the cost is around NPR 1,500-2,000. Be prepared for a long ride, and ensure you have water and snacks.

For a faster option, consider taking a shared jeep from Jomsom to Pokhara. Shared jeeps tend to leave early in the morning and can be booked at the local jeep stand.
