Getting There

Walking
If you are starting at the Amersfoort train station, exit the station and head northwest towards Stadsring. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Westsingel. Turn left onto Westsingel and follow it until you reach the intersection with Breestraat. Turn right onto Breestraat and continue straight until you reach the city center. Once you reach the city center, look for signs directing you to Edam, which is about a 30-minute walk. Follow the pedestrian signs and enjoy the local shops and cafes along the way.

Public Transport
From the Amersfoort train station, take a train towards Purmerend. Make sure to check the schedule, as trains might not run frequently. After approximately 20 minutes, get off at the Edam-Volendam station. Once you exit the station, head southwest on Edam's main street towards Damplein. It’s a 15-minute walk from the station to the Edams Museum at Damplein 8. Follow the signs for the museum, and you’ll enjoy the charming streets of Edam along the way.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Amersfoort. Start from the Amersfoort train station and head towards the east on the bike path that leads out of the city. Follow the bike signs towards Edam. The ride will take about 40 minutes, and you will enjoy the scenic Dutch countryside along the way. Once you arrive in Edam, park your bike and walk to Damplein 8, where the Edams Museum is located.
