Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Amsterdam Central Station, exit the station and head towards the front where you will see the large square. Walk straight ahead along the Damrak for approximately 10-15 minutes until you reach Dam Square. The National Monument is located in the center of Dam Square, visible as a tall white stone pillar.

  • Tram

    From Amsterdam Central Station, take tram line 4, 14, or 24 towards the direction of IJburg or the city center. Get off at the 'Dam' stop. Once you exit the tram, you will be right at Dam Square, where the National Monument is located. Just walk towards the center of the square to find the monument.

  • Bicycle

    If you are renting a bicycle, head towards the city center and follow the signs to Dam Square. From any direction, aim for the center of Amsterdam; you will find bike lanes leading to Dam Square.
