Walking
If you are starting from Amsterdam Central Station, exit the station and head towards the front where you will see the large square. Walk straight ahead along the Damrak for approximately 10-15 minutes until you reach Dam Square. The National Monument is located in the center of Dam Square, visible as a tall white stone pillar.

From Amsterdam Central Station, take tram line 4, 14, or 24 towards the direction of IJburg or the city center. Get off at the 'Dam' stop.
