If you are in Museumplein, the Van Gogh Museum is just a short walk away. Start by facing the large grassy area in the center of Museumplein. From there, locate the entrance to the Rijksmuseum, which has a large red and white sign. Walk towards the Rijksmuseum, keeping it to your left. Once you approach the museum, you will see the Van Gogh Museum directly ahead, marked with its distinct sign. It’s only about a 5-minute walk from the center of Museumplein.

If you prefer to cycle, there are bike rental stations around Museumplein. Rent a bike from any of the nearby rental services. To reach the Van Gogh Museum, cycle along the pathway that runs along the edge of Museumplein towards the Van Gogh Museum. You will reach your destination in about 2 minutes. Make sure to park your bike at the designated bike racks near the museum.

For those who might be coming from a further distance within Amsterdam, take tram line 2, 5, or 12 to the 'Museumplein' stop. Once you disembark, you can easily see the Van Gogh Museum straight ahead. It is a short 5-minute walk from the tram stop. The ticket for a single tram ride costs about €3.20, and you can purchase it at the tram stop or via the GVB app.
