Walking
If you are in the city center of Maastricht, start by heading towards the Markt square. From there, make your way to the nearest bus stop that services routes towards Aachen. The closest bus stop is at 'Maastricht, Markt'. Once you find the bus stop, look for bus line 50, which will take you directly to Aachen. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Aachen, disembark at 'Aachen, Markt' bus stop. The City Hall Aachen is just a short walk from the bus stop; it will be straight ahead on the Markt.
Train
From Maastricht train station, purchase a ticket to Aachen. Board a train heading in the direction of Aachen, which usually runs every 30 minutes. The train ride takes approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Aachen Hauptbahnhof, you can either catch a bus or walk to the City Hall. If you choose to walk, exit the station and head north on Kaiserplatz. Continue straight until you reach Markt square, where you will find the City Hall Aachen, located directly on the square.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Maastricht. Head west towards the border and follow the bike path that leads to Aachen. The ride is approximately 15 kilometers and should take about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Follow the signs for Aachen, and once you arrive in the city, look for Markt square. The City Hall Aachen will be located right in the center of the square.
