Car
From Zaanse Schans, get on the A8 highway towards Amsterdam. Follow the A8 for about 14 km until you reach the junction with the A10 ring road. Take the A10 towards Utrecht and then take the exit for S112 toward Amsterdam-Centrum. Continue on S112, which becomes Plantage Middenlaan. Follow the signs to ARTIS, which is located at Plantage Kerklaan 38-40, Amsterdam. There is a parking facility nearby, but expect to pay around €4 per hour.

Public Transportation
Start at the Zaanse Schans bus stop. Take bus line 391 towards Amsterdam. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the Amsterdam, Centraal Station stop. From there, walk to the Amsterdam Centraal train station and take a train to Amsterdam Amstel. Once at Amsterdam Amstel, transfer to tram line 14 towards Flevopark. Get off at the ARTIS stop. The entrance to the zoo is just a short walk from the tram stop. A combined ticket for the bus and tram might cost around €10.
