If you are in downtown Reno, you can catch the RTC public bus at the RTC Transit Center located at 4th Street and Virginia Street. Take the Route 5 bus towards 'UNR/Mackay Mines.' The bus will take you directly to the University of Nevada, Reno campus. Disembark at the stop closest to the university. Once you get off, head north towards North Virginia Street. The W. M Keck Earth Science And Mineral Engineering Museum is located at 1664 North Virginia Street, in the Mackay Mines building. It is a short walk from the bus stop.

From the downtown area, you can walk to the museum. Start from the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts at 1 S. Virginia St. Head north on South Virginia Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with East 9th Street. Turn left on East 9th Street and continue walking until you reach North Virginia Street. Turn right on North Virginia Street and walk for another 0.3 miles. The museum will be on your left in the Mackay Mines building at 1664 North Virginia Street.
