Car
From Reno, NV, take US-395 South for approximately 30 miles. Merge onto NV-431 West (Mount Rose Highway) and continue for about 12 miles. Turn left onto NV-28 South and follow the signs to Sand Harbor. The park entrance will be on your right at 2005 NV-28, Incline Village, NV 89452. Note that there is a parking fee of $10 for vehicles.
Public Transportation
Start at the Reno Amtrak Station and take the RTC (Regional Transportation Commission) bus route 19 towards Incline Village. This route connects to the local transport system. You will need to transfer to the North Lake Tahoe Express at the Incline Village stop. This shuttle service runs several times a day but check the schedule for exact times. Upon arrival at the Sand Harbor stop, it's a short walk to the entrance. The bus fare is approximately $2.00.
Carpool or Rideshare
If you are in the Reno area, consider using rideshare services like Uber or Lyft to reach Sand Harbor. Simply enter the park's address (2005 NV-28, Incline Village, NV 89452) into the app. Estimated fares from Reno can vary but expect around $40-$70 one way depending on traffic.
Bike
For the more adventurous, biking from Reno to Sand Harbor is an option. Begin your journey on the Truckee River Bike Path, connecting to US-395, then take NV-431 towards Sand Harbor. This route is approximately 45 miles and is best suited for experienced cyclists. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks.
