Walking
From Exeter Town Center, head north on Water Street toward Front Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Epping Road (NH-27). Turn left onto Epping Road and walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Exeter train station. Take the Amtrak Downeaster train towards Portland and get off at the Portsmouth station. From the station, walk east on the US-1 Bypass (Market Street) for about 0.4 miles, then turn left onto State Street. Continue walking for another 0.2 miles, and the African Burying Ground Memorial will be on your right at 386 State Street.

From Exeter, make your way to the Route 27 bus stop near the Town Hall. Board the 55 bus towards Portsmouth. Ride for about 30 minutes until you reach the Portsmouth Bus Terminal. Once at the terminal, exit and walk east along the US-1 Bypass (Market Street) for about 0.4 miles, then turn left onto State Street. Walk another 0.2 miles, and you will find the African Burying Ground Memorial at 386 State Street on your right.

If you have access to a bicycle, start from Exeter Town Center and head north on Water Street. Follow the road until it becomes Epping Road, then continue until you reach the Exeter train station.
