Car
If you are driving, start at the Franconia Notch State Park entrance on I-93. Head south on I-93 and take exit 34C for US-3 N. Continue on US-3 N for approximately 2 miles. Turn left onto Franconia Road and follow the signs for Franconia Iron Furnace, which will be on your right. There is no cost for parking near the furnace.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the Concord Coach Lines bus to Franconia. From the bus stop in Franconia, you can either walk or take a taxi. The walk will take about 30 minutes. Head northwest on Main Street, turn left onto US-3 N, then turn left onto Franconia Road. The Franconia Iron Furnace will be on your right.

Bicycling
For those who prefer biking, Franconia Notch State Park offers scenic trails. Start on the paved bike path that runs parallel to the highway. Follow the path until you reach the junction with Franconia Road. Turn right and bike along Franconia Road for about 1 mile until you reach the Franconia Iron Furnace. Ensure you have a bike lock, as you will want to secure your bike while you explore the site.

If you are already within the park and prefer to walk, locate the Franconia Notch Recreation Path. Follow the path south until you reach the intersection with US-3. Cross US-3 and continue onto Franconia Road. The Franconia Iron Furnace will be just a short distance on your right. This is a scenic route, and the walk will take about 25-30 minutes.
