From central Highlands, NJ, start by heading north on Shore Drive. Continue straight for about 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with State Route 36. Turn right onto State Route 36 and proceed for approximately 1 mile. Look for the sign for Twin Lights State Historic Site on your right. Turn onto Light House Road, and the entrance will be on your left.

If you are taking public transportation, start by walking to the Highlands NJ Transit station. From there, take the North Jersey Coast Line train towards New York Penn Station. Get off at the next stop, which is the Atlantic Highlands station. From the Atlantic Highlands station, you can take a local taxi or rideshare service to Twin Lights State Historic Site, which is about 2 miles away. Alternatively, you can check local bus services that might connect to the site.

Walking from nearby
If you are staying nearby in Highlands and prefer to walk, head west on Shore Drive, then take a right onto State Route 36. Walk along the sidewalk for about 1 mile until you reach Light House Road. Turn left on Light House Road and the Twin Lights State Historic Site will be on your left. This is a scenic walk, but be prepared for some stretches without sidewalks.

For those biking, you can ride along Shore Drive north until it meets State Route 36. From there, continue on the shoulder of State Route 36 heading west for about 1 mile. Turn right onto Light House Road and follow it to the entrance of Twin Lights State Historic Site. Make sure to wear a helmet and be cautious of traffic.
