Walking
From the Hoboken Terminal, head southeast towards Hudson Place. Continue straight onto Hudson Street and walk for about 10 minutes. You will see the waterfront along the Hudson River on your left. As you reach the edge of the waterfront, cross over to the path that leads to the New York Waterway ferry terminal. Take the ferry to 39th Street in Manhattan. Once you disembark, walk east towards the subway entrance. Take the subway (C line) uptown towards 168th Street. Get off at 125th Street Station and exit towards Malcolm X Boulevard. From there, you can walk to Harlem, which is approximately a 10-15 minute walk depending on your pace.
Public Transportation
From any location in Hoboken, make your way to the Hoboken Terminal. Once there, take the PATH train to 33rd Street in Manhattan. After arriving, transfer to the A or C subway line at 33rd Street Station towards Uptown. Ride until you reach the 125th Street Station. After exiting, head north towards Harlem, which will take approximately 10 minutes on foot.
Ferry
Start at the Hoboken Terminal and head to the New York Waterway ferry terminal located nearby. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Manhattan. Board the ferry and enjoy the scenic ride across the Hudson River. Once you arrive at the Midtown/W. 39th St. Ferry Terminal, walk to the nearest subway station (Port Authority Bus Terminal). Take the A or C subway line uptown and get off at 125th Street. Exit the station and walk north to reach the heart of Harlem.
