If you are starting from Lower Manhattan, take the PATH train from the World Trade Center station to Journal Square. Once you arrive at Journal Square, exit the train station and head towards the exit on the right side. After exiting, walk straight ahead on Kennedy Blvd for two blocks until you reach the intersection with Academy St. Turn left onto Academy St, and continue walking for about 5 minutes. The Museum of Jersey City History at the Van Wagenen (Apple Tree) House will be on your right at 298 Academy St.

If you are near the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, board the train heading towards Hoboken. Get off at the West Side Avenue station. From there, walk south on West Side Ave for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Academy St. Turn left onto Academy St, and the museum will be located a few blocks down on your left at 298 Academy St.

From various locations in Jersey City, you can take the NJ Transit bus lines that service the area. For example, if you are near the Exchange Place area, take the 87 bus towards Journal Square. Get off at the stop near the intersection of Academy St and continue walking straight down Academy St for about 5 minutes. The museum will be located at 298 Academy St on your right.
