Car
From North Jersey, take the Garden State Parkway South. Follow signs for the Parkway and merge onto NJ-36 E toward Atlantic Highlands. Continue on NJ-36 E until you reach the junction with NJ-36 S. Follow NJ-36 S for approximately 3 miles, then turn left onto Sandy Hook Access Road. Continue on this road until you reach the entrance to Fort Hancock. Note that parking fees may apply, so be prepared to pay a small fee at the entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Fort Hancock via public transportation, take NJ Transit Train from North Jersey to the Little Silver Station. Once you arrive, you can catch the Monmouth County Bus #834 toward Sandy Hook. This bus will take you directly to the Fort Hancock area. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for the latest departure times. The bus fare is approximately $1.50.
Bicycle
For those who prefer to cycle, you can ride from North Jersey to Fort Hancock. Start from the Hudson River Greenway and follow the signs to the Henry Hudson Trail, which will lead you toward Sandy Hook. The ride is scenic and allows you to enjoy the waterfront views. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local biking laws. Depending on your starting point, the ride may take several hours, so plan accordingly.
