Getting There

  • Bus

    From the Paterson Bus Terminal, take NJ Transit bus 175 towards New York City. The bus will take you directly to the George Washington Bridge bus terminal in Manhattan. From there, transfer to the M4 subway line at the 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal station. Take the M4 towards the Bronx and get off at the 59th Street-Columbus Circle station. Central Park will be right across the street.

  • Train

    Head to the Paterson Train Station and take a NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line towards New York Penn Station. Once at Penn Station, exit and walk to 7th Avenue. From there, take the M7 or M20 bus heading north, which will take you to Central Park.

  • Walking

    If you are already in downtown Paterson, walk to the intersection of Market Street and Main Street. From there, head southeast along Market Street until you reach the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park. This park is a bit of a diversion, but it's worth a visit. After visiting, head back to Market Street and walk to the light rail station. From there, take the light rail to the nearest bus stop heading to New York City, and follow the previous bus instructions.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bike from a local rental shop and head towards the Passaic River. Follow the river north, where you can connect to the scenic bike paths that lead to the George Washington Bridge. Once at the bridge, bike across to Manhattan and follow the signs to Central Park, which is just a short ride away.
