Bus
From any location in Paterson, head towards the nearest bus stop that serves NJ Transit. You can take the NJ Transit bus route 74, which travels from Paterson to New York City. Board the bus and enjoy the ride to New York City. Once you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City, exit the terminal and head towards 8th Avenue. From there, walk to the subway station and take the A, C, or E train to 42nd St/Port Authority, then transfer to the F train towards Jamaica-179th St and get off at 63rd St. After exiting the station, walk east along 63rd St until you reach E 65th St. Turn left and you will find Heckscher Playground on your left.
Train
Start your journey at the Paterson train station. Board a NJ Transit train heading towards New York Penn Station. Once you arrive at Penn Station, follow the signs to the subway. Take the A, C, or E train from 34th Street-Penn Station and get off at 42nd St/Port Authority. From here, transfer to the F train towards Jamaica-179th St and get off at 63rd St. After exiting the station, walk east along 63rd St until you reach E 65th St. Turn left, and you will see Heckscher Playground on your left.
Walking
If you are near the Great Falls National Historical Park in Paterson, you can walk to Heckscher Playground. From the park, head southeast on McBride Ave toward Market St. Continue walking on Market St until you reach the bus stop. From there, take the NJ Transit bus route 74 to New York City. Once you reach E 65th St, walk east until you find Heckscher Playground.
