If you're driving from central Raritan Valley, take Route 22 West. Continue on Route 22 until you reach the intersection with Route 202. Merge onto Route 202 South and follow the signs for Mountainside. Once in Mountainside, look for Historic Trail and turn right. Watchung Reservation will be on your left. Parking is available on-site, and there is no cost for parking.

Public Transportation
To use public transportation, start by taking a NJ Transit train from your nearest station in Raritan Valley to the Plainfield station. From Plainfield, transfer to the 59 bus towards Mountainside. Get off at the stop nearest to Historic Trail. Walk approximately 0.5 miles north on Historic Trail to reach Watchung Reservation. Be aware that bus fares are typically around $1.50-$3.00, and train fares will vary depending on your starting station.

If you are already in the vicinity of Watchung Reservation, you can reach the park by walking. Make your way to Historic Trail, and follow the road to the entrance of Watchung Reservation. The park is open to pedestrians, and there are well-marked paths within the park for hiking and exploration.
