Getting There

  • Train

    From Red Bank, head to the Red Bank train station located at 176 Monmouth Street. Once at the station, purchase a ticket for a northbound train on the North Jersey Coast Line towards New York Penn Station. The train journey takes approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival at New York Penn Station, follow the signs for the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and take the LIRR train to Grand Central Terminal. Once at Grand Central, exit the station and walk east on 42nd Street until you reach 5th Avenue. Turn right on 5th Avenue and continue walking until you reach Central Park South. Enter Central Park and follow the signs to the Central Park Zoo, which is located at the southeastern corner of the park.

    From Red Bank, go to the nearest bus stop and take the NJ Transit Bus No. 833 towards New York Port Authority Bus Terminal. The bus ride will take around 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Port Authority, walk east on 42nd Street to 5th Avenue. Turn right on 5th Avenue and head south until you reach Central Park South. Enter Central Park and follow the signs to the Central Park Zoo, located at the southeastern corner of the park.

    If you're feeling adventurous and are staying in Red Bank, consider taking a scenic walk along the Navesink River waterfront towards the Two River Theater. From there, walk north on Maple Avenue until you reach Monmouth Street. Continue on Monmouth Street, which will eventually lead to the Red Bank train station. From the train station, follow the Train guidance above to reach Central Park Zoo.
