From downtown Paterson, walk to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. You can catch the #156 bus towards the George Washington Bridge. The bus will take you directly to the Fort Lee area, where the bridge is located. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you get off the bus at the stop nearest to the bridge, follow the signs to the George Washington Bridge pedestrian walkway.

Walking
If you prefer walking, start from the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park. Head southeast on McBride Avenue towards Broadway. Continue on Broadway until you reach the intersection with Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street and walk towards the Passaic River. Cross the river using the bridge and continue along the river until you reach the George Washington Bridge. This walk is approximately 2.5 miles and will take you around 50 minutes.

Train and Bus
From the Paterson Train Station, take a NJ Transit train heading towards Secaucus Junction. At Secaucus Junction, transfer to a train heading towards Hoboken. Get off at the Hoboken Terminal and then take the #126 bus to Fort Lee. The bus ride will take around 25 minutes. Once you arrive in Fort Lee, follow the signs to the George Washington Bridge pedestrian walkway.
