To reach the Sandia Mountains from downtown Albuquerque, take the ABQ RIDE bus number 5 or 66 from Central Avenue. Make sure to board the bus heading towards 'Candelaria' or 'Montgomery'. Ride until you reach the 'Embudo Canyon' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles north towards the Sandia Mountains. Follow the trail signs to guide you through the paths leading up the mountain.
