To reach Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge via public transportation, start at the Albuquerque Alvarado Transportation Center located at 100 1st Street SW. Board the ABQ Ride bus number 66 towards 'South Valley'. Stay on the bus for about 25 minutes and get off at the '2nd St. SW & Isleta Blvd.' stop. From there, walk south on 2nd St SW for approximately 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance of Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge at 7851 2nd St SW.

If you are cycling, start from the city center. Head south on 2nd St NW, which becomes 2nd St SW as you cross I-40. Continue straight for about 4 miles. You will pass through neighborhoods and cross Isleta Blvd. The refuge entrance will be on your left at 7851 2nd St SW. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling laws for safety.

If you are walking from a nearby area, navigate to 2nd St SW. Depending on your starting point, you may need to ask locals for directions to 2nd St SW, as it is a main road. Once on 2nd St, head south for approximately 1.5 miles. The refuge entrance will be on your left at 7851 2nd St SW. Ensure you have comfortable walking shoes, as the walk may take about 30-40 minutes.
