Public Transport
From the Carlsbad City Hall (101 N Halagueno St), walk to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of N Halagueno St and W Fox St. Take the Pecos Connection bus route towards Artesia. Ride the bus for approximately 1 hour until you reach the Artesia Bus Station. From there, transfer to the Greyhound bus service heading to Encinitas, CA. The journey will take around 5-6 hours. Once you arrive in Encinitas, walk towards Swami's Beach, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus station. Head southwest on S Coast Hwy 101, then turn left onto Neptune Ave. Continue straight until you reach Swami's Beach.
Bicycle Rental
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Carlsbad. Start your journey at the Carlsbad Museum and Art Center (418 W Fox St), and ride south on the Pecos Riverwalk Trail. Follow the trail for about 5 miles until you reach the junction with the US-62 highway. Here, you will need to navigate carefully as you cross to the other side. Continue riding west for about 10 miles on the highway until you reach the turn-off for Encinitas. Once in Encinitas, follow the signs to Swami's Beach, which is located off of Neptune Ave.
Walking
If you prefer walking, start at the Carlsbad Riverwalk Recreation Area (located at 3000 W Pierce St). Walk east along the river for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with S Canal St. Turn left and continue walking for another mile until you reach the intersection with US-62. Cross the highway carefully and continue walking west for about 10 miles until you enter Encinitas. Once in Encinitas, ask locals for directions to Swami's Beach, which is a popular spot and easy to find.
