Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from anywhere in Santa Fe National Forest, first locate NM-63, the primary road that runs through the forest. Head southeast on NM-63 until you reach the junction with US-84. Turn left onto US-84 and continue for approximately 4 miles. When you reach the intersection with NM-599, take the exit towards Santa Fe. Merge onto NM-599 and continue for about 5 miles until you reach the exit for NM-285. Take the exit and continue south on NM-285 for about 2 miles. Finally, turn left onto Dinosaur Trail. The New Mexico Public Lands Information Center will be on your right at 301 Dinosaur Trail, Santa Fe, NM 87508. Look for the sign outside the building.

    To reach the New Mexico Public Lands Information Center via public transportation, you will first need to get to the Santa Fe Depot. You can take the Santa Fe Trails bus system, which has routes throughout the Santa Fe National Forest area. From the depot, take Route 2 towards the Southside Transit Center. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the Southside Transit Center. From there, you will need to catch a taxi or a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, as there are no direct public bus routes to the Information Center. The taxi ride will take about 15 minutes and cost approximately $15-$20.
