From the White Sands National Park visitor center, exit the building and head south towards the main road (U.S. Route 70). Turn right onto U.S. Route 70 and walk along the shoulder. Follow the road for approximately 1.5 miles. You will see a sign for White Sands Gate on your left. Cross safely to the gate area.
