From the Adirondack Mountains, take NY-28 S towards Kingston. Merge onto NY-87 S (the New York State Thruway) towards New York City. Continue on I-87 S for approximately 50 miles. Take exit 21 for US-9 towards Hudson. Merge onto US-9 N and continue for about 5 miles. Turn left onto NY-9G S. After approximately 1 mile, Olana State Historic Site will be on your left at 5720 NY-9G, Hudson, NY 12534. There is a parking fee of $10 for non-residents.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transport, start by taking a bus from various locations in the Adirondack region to Albany. From Albany, take the CDTA (Capital District Transportation Authority) bus route 219 towards Hudson. Get off at the stop nearest to the Hudson train station. From there, you can either take a taxi or an Uber to Olana State Historic Site, which is approximately 3 miles away. Taxi fares might cost around $10-15.

For the adventurous cyclists, you can bike from the Hudson area. Start at the Hudson train station and head south on US-9 S. After about 3 miles, take a left onto NY-9G S. Continue for about 1 mile, and you will reach Olana State Historic Site. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic regulations. The ride is approximately 4-5 miles in total.
