Public Transit - Bus
If you are starting from downtown Buffalo, head to the nearest bus stop. Take the NFTA Metro Bus Route 5 (Elmwood Avenue) heading towards the Buffalo Zoo. You will need to ride the bus for about 25 minutes. Get off at the stop near the Buffalo Zoo. From there, walk northwest on Parkside Avenue for about 10 minutes until you reach the entrance to the Japanese Garden located at 1 Museum Ct.

If you are close to Delaware Park, you can walk to the Japanese Garden. Start at the entrance of Delaware Park, and head southeast towards the intersection of Parkside Avenue and the road leading into the park. Continue walking on the path that leads into the park and follow the signs for the Japanese Garden. The walk should take approximately 15 minutes.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from downtown Buffalo to the Japanese Garden. Start by heading north on Elmwood Avenue. Continue on Elmwood Avenue for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with Parkside Avenue. Turn left onto Parkside Avenue and ride for another mile. The Japanese Garden will be on your right at 1 Museum Ct. The total ride should take around 15-20 minutes.
