If you are driving to Wittenberg Mountain, start from the nearest town, Phoenicia, NY. Head west on Main Street (NY-214) for about 4 miles. You will reach a fork; take the left fork onto Peekamoose Road. Continue straight for about 1.5 miles until you reach the parking area for the Wittenberg Mountain trailhead on the right side of the road. Parking may be limited, so arrive early if possible. Note that there may be a small parking fee, typically around $10.

From the Phoenicia bus stop, you will need to either walk or arrange for a taxi to the trailhead on Peekamoose Road, which is about 4 miles away. Once at the trailhead, follow the Wittenberg Mountain Trail, which is well-marked. Ensure you have good walking shoes and enough supplies for the hike, as it takes approximately 4 hours to ascend and 4 hours to descend.
