If you are traveling by car, start on NY-28 from any location in the Catskill Mountains. Continue on NY-28 until you reach the intersection with County Route 47 in the town of Shandaken. Turn onto County Route 47 and follow the signs for Slide Mountain (approximately 6 miles). The road will lead you to the Slide Mountain trailhead parking area. There is a parking fee of $10 per vehicle, which can be paid at a kiosk.

For those using public transportation, you can take the Trailways bus from New York City to the town of Kingston. From Kingston, transfer to the Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) bus that services the Catskill region. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest stop to Slide Mountain trailhead, which is near the intersection of NY-28 and County Route 47. Please ensure to check UCAT schedules in advance, as services may be limited, especially on weekends.

Once you arrive at the Slide Mountain trailhead, follow the marked hiking trails to reach the summit.
