Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards Cold Spring, NY. From the north (e.g., Beacon), take Route 9D south. If you are coming from the south (e.g., Peekskill), take Route 9 north. Once you reach Cold Spring, exit onto Kemble Avenue. Follow Kemble Avenue for about 0.5 miles until you reach the West Point Foundry Preserve, located at 80 Kemble Ave, Cold Spring, NY 10516. There is parking available near the entrance, though it can fill up quickly on weekends.

• Train

  For those using public transportation, take the Metro-North Railroad from Grand Central Terminal in New York City to the Cold Spring station. This scenic ride along the Hudson River takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Cold Spring station, exit the station and turn right onto Main Street. Continue straight for about 0.4 miles until you reach Kemble Avenue. Turn left onto Kemble Avenue and walk for approximately 0.5 miles to reach the West Point Foundry Preserve. The total walking distance from the train station is about 1 mile.

• Bus

  If you're considering a bus, check the schedules for the Short Line Bus Service, which operates from various locations in the Hudson Valley to Cold Spring. Once you arrive at the bus stop in Cold Spring, follow the same directions as provided for the train: walk right onto Main Street, then left onto Kemble Avenue, and continue for about 0.5 miles to reach the preserve.
