If you're starting from New York City, take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) from Penn Station or Flatbush Avenue to Stony Brook Station. The trip takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Stony Brook Station, exit the station and walk to the bus stop located right outside. Catch the S40 bus heading towards Port Jefferson. Get off at the stop closest to the Carriage Museum, which is located at 1200 Rte 25A, Stony Brook, NY 11790. From there, it is a short walk to the museum entrance.
