Train
Take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) from your nearest station to the Oyster Bay Branch. Board a train heading towards Oyster Bay and disembark at the Oyster Bay Station. Once you arrive, exit the station and head east on Audrey Avenue until you reach the intersection with South Street. Turn left onto South Street, which will turn into Mill Neck Road. Continue on Mill Neck Road for about 1.5 miles until you reach Dogwood Lane. Turn right onto Dogwood Lane, and the entrance to John P. Humes Japanese Stroll Garden will be on your left.

If you prefer to travel by bus, check the Suffolk County Transit or Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) bus schedules for routes that connect to Mill Neck. One option is to take the NICE bus route N70 from your location towards Glen Cove. After reaching Glen Cove, transfer to the N6 bus towards Oyster Bay. Get off at the stop closest to Mill Neck Road. From there, walk south along Mill Neck Road for about 15-20 minutes until you reach Dogwood Lane. Take a right on Dogwood Lane, and the garden will be on your left.
