Walking
From the center of Montauk, start at the Montauk Train Station located at 465 East Lake Drive. Exit the station and head south on East Lake Drive towards Montauk Harbor. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and follow it until you reach the intersection with Old Montauk Highway. Turn right onto Old Montauk Highway. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 miles. Hither Hills State Park will be on your left at 164 Old Montauk Hwy.

If you have access to a bicycle, begin at the Montauk Train Station at 465 East Lake Drive. Head south towards Montauk Harbor, then turn left onto Main Street. Continue on Main Street until you reach Old Montauk Highway. Turn right onto Old Montauk Highway and follow it for about 1.5 miles. Hither Hills State Park will be on your left at 164 Old Montauk Hwy. The ride should take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on your speed.

From the Montauk Train Station (465 East Lake Drive), take the Suffolk County Transit bus route S92 towards East Hampton. Get off at the stop closest to Hither Hills State Park, which is approximately 1 mile from the park entrance. From the bus stop, walk along Old Montauk Highway heading west for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the park entrance at 164 Old Montauk Hwy.
