Walking
Starting from the Poughkeepsie Train Station, exit and head southwest on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route 9. Cross Route 9 and follow the signs for the Walkway Over the Hudson. Walk onto the Walkway and enjoy the view as you cross the Hudson River. Once you reach the other side, follow the path until you arrive at the Highland side. Exit the Walkway and take a right onto Route 299. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Route 9W. Here, you can catch a local bus or continue walking.

At the Poughkeepsie Train Station, board the Dutchess County Public Transit bus route 1 towards Beacon. Get off at the stop for Route 9W and Route 299.
