Walking
If you are starting from the Poughkeepsie Train Station, exit the station and head southeast on Main Street. Continue for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with Washington Street. Turn left onto Washington Street and walk for approximately 0.4 miles. You will see the entrance to the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park on your right. Cross the bridge and follow the signs to the Hudson Bridge Walking Elevator, which will be located at the eastern end of the walkway.

If you are near the Mid-Hudson Civic Center, exit the building and head northeast on the walkway towards the riverfront. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles, and you will arrive at the entrance to the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park. Once on the bridge, walk east towards the Hudson Bridge Walking Elevator, which you will find at the end of the walkway.

From the Poughkeepsie Waterfront Market, head north on Market Street towards Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Washington Street. Turn right onto Washington Street and proceed for another 0.4 miles. The entrance to the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park will be on your left. Follow the bridge to the Hudson Bridge Walking Elevator at the end.
