Hudson Lookout: A Scenic Gem in Poughkeepsie

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from Poughkeepsie Train Station, exit the station and head north on Main Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Market Street. Turn right onto Market Street and continue for about 0.2 miles. You should see the Hudson River in front of you. Keep walking until you reach the waterfront area. From there, follow the waterfront path north until you arrive at Hudson Lookout, which is a scenic viewpoint offering great views of the Hudson River.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  From the Poughkeepsie Train Station, take the Dutchess County Public Transit Bus #1 heading towards the Poughkeepsie Galleria. Get off at the stop at the intersection of Route 9 and Market Street. Walk east on Market Street towards the waterfront (about 0.2 miles). Once you reach the Hudson River, follow the path north along the waterfront until you arrive at Hudson Lookout.

• Biking

  If you have access to a bicycle, you can start from the Poughkeepsie Train Station. Head north on Main Street and continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach Market Street. Turn right onto Market Street and continue straight until you reach the waterfront. Once you get to the waterfront, there’s a bike path that runs along the Hudson River. Follow this path north, and it will lead you directly to Hudson Lookout.
