Car

If you're traveling by car within Abel Tasman National Park, start your journey at the main visitor center or any other point in the park. Drive towards the northern exit of the park, following the signs for Marahau. Once you reach Marahau, head onto State Highway 60. Continue on this highway for approximately 30 kilometers. When you reach the town of Tasman, turn onto Rush Lane. Tasman Memorial Recreation Reserve is located at 11 Rush Lane, which will be on your right side. There is ample parking available at the park.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take a bus from any major town in the region (like Nelson) that offers services to the Abel Tasman area. You can catch the bus at the Nelson Bus Station. Make sure to check the schedule in advance, as service frequency may vary. Once you arrive at the nearest stop in Tasman, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers to reach Tasman Memorial Recreation Reserve. Head east on State Highway 60, and then turn onto Rush Lane, which will lead you directly to the park at 11 Rush Lane.

Bicycle

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Marahau or nearby areas. Follow the same route as cars by heading onto State Highway 60, cycling towards Tasman. The ride is approximately 30 kilometers and is suitable for most cyclists, offering beautiful scenery along the way. Once you reach Tasman, turn onto Rush Lane to find Tasman Memorial Recreation Reserve at 11 Rush Lane. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules.

Walking

If you're already within a reasonable distance of Tasman Memorial Recreation Reserve and prefer walking, you can take a scenic route through the local trails. From any nearby point in the park, follow the trails leading towards the coastal path. Once you reach State Highway 60, head towards Tasman, and then turn onto Rush Lane.
