Bus
From the city center, head to the bus stop on Great King Street. Take the 16 bus towards Waitati. This bus will take you along the scenic route towards the Orokonui Ecosanctuary. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes, and get off at the 'Orokonui Ecosanctuary' stop. The sanctuary entrance is a short walk from the bus stop.

Walking
If you're near the Octagon in Dunedin, walk to Great King Street and head towards the nearest bus stop to catch the 16 bus, or you can walk to the Orokonui Ecosanctuary directly. This will take you about an hour and a half, following Blueskin Road north from Dunedin. The sanctuary is located at 600 Blueskin Road. Walk carefully as this road may have limited pedestrian pathways.

Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike in Dunedin. Start at the Octagon and head north on George Street. Continue onto the cycle path which will guide you towards Blueskin Road. This route is approximately 13 kilometers and will take about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your cycling speed. Follow the signs to Orokonui Ecosanctuary, which is located at 600 Blueskin Road.
