From Dunedin city center, head north on State Highway 1 (SH1). Continue on SH1 for approximately 25 kilometers until you reach the exit for SH88 towards Port Chalmers. Follow SH88 for about 7 kilometers, then take the turn-off onto Beach Road. Continue on Beach Road for about 3 kilometers until you arrive at Long Beach, which will be on your left side. Parking is available near the beach.

From Dunedin's central bus station, take the bus service that heads towards Port Chalmers. Services like the 'Dunedin to Port Chalmers' bus run regularly. Make sure to check the current schedule as the frequency may vary. Once you arrive at Port Chalmers, you can transfer to a local taxi service or rideshare to reach Long Beach, which is approximately 8 kilometers away. Expect to pay around NZD 20-30 for the taxi fare from Port Chalmers to Long Beach.
