If you are driving, start from Te Anau, which is the nearest town to Fiordland National Park. Head southeast on Te Anau-Milford Highway (State Highway 94) for approximately 25 kilometers. Watch for the sign for Lake Mistletoe Walking Track, which will direct you to a parking area on the right side of the road. There is no cost for parking at the trailhead.

If you are using public transportation, catch a bus from Te Anau to Milford Sound that stops at various locations along the way. Inform the bus driver that you want to stop at Lake Mistletoe Walking Track. Ensure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited. Upon arrival, you will need to walk a short distance from the bus stop to the trailhead. There may be a fare for the bus, typically around NZD $40-$50 one way.

Once you have parked your vehicle at the designated parking area along Te Anau-Milford Highway, the Lake Mistletoe Walking Track begins just off the side of the road.
