Car
If you are driving from Milford Sound to Mirror Lakes, take the Milford Road (State Highway 94) heading northeast. Drive approximately 20 minutes (about 15 kilometers) along the scenic highway. You will see the sign for Mirror Lakes on the left side of the road. There is a parking area available where you can safely park your car. From the parking lot, follow the short walking track to the lakes.

If you are using public transport, take one of the shuttle services that operate between Milford Sound and Te Anau. Ensure that you check the shuttle schedules ahead of your trip to find a suitable time. Once you arrive at Milford Sound, you can arrange for a taxi or a local guided tour service that can take you to Mirror Lakes. For those who are in Milford Sound and prefer to walk, it is possible to hike along the Milford Road to Mirror Lakes. However, this is not recommended due to the lack of a dedicated pedestrian pathway and the busy traffic. If you still choose to walk, follow the road towards Te Anau for approximately 1.5 kilometers, and you will find the Mirror Lakes parking area on your left. Please ensure you take necessary safety precautions.
