From Hamilton City Center, head to the Hamilton Transport Centre located at 2 Garden Place. Take the bus route 25 towards Cambridge. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop on Cambridge Road, near the intersection with Ariki Street. From there, walk along Ariki Street for about 1 km, following the signs towards Karapiro Dam Lookout. The lookout is located at the end of Ariki Street.

Start at Hamilton City Center and head towards the Waikato River Trails. Follow the river path towards Cambridge. After about 10 km, you will reach Cambridge Road. Turn left onto Cambridge Road and continue for about 3 km. Take a right onto Ariki Street and follow it for approximately 1 km to reach Karapiro Dam Lookout. The total cycling distance from Hamilton is around 13 km.
