Bus
From Hamilton, head to the Hamilton Transport Centre located at 1000 Victoria Street. You can catch the 'Te Awamutu via Pukeatua' bus (Route 1) from here. The bus will take you along State Highway 1 and through the town of Te Awamutu. You will need to disembark at the closest bus stop to Sanctuary Mountain, which is near the intersection of State Highway 1 and Pukeatua Road. This journey takes about 30-40 minutes.

Walking
After getting off the bus at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Pukeatua Road, you will need to walk approximately 3.5 kilometers to reach Sanctuary Mountain - Maungatautari. Head east on Pukeatua Road for about 2 kilometers until you reach Tari Road. Turn left onto Tari Road, and continue walking for another 1.5 kilometers. Sanctuary Mountain will be on your right at 99 Tari Road.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Hamilton and follow the same route as the bus. Start from the Hamilton Transport Centre and cycle along State Highway 1. After about 5 kilometers, turn onto Pukeatua Road and then onto Tari Road.
