Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Blenheim, take State Highway 1 southbound towards Havelock. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the town of Havelock. Once in Havelock, follow the signs for Cullen Point Lookout. The lookout is situated about 5 kilometers from the town center. The roads are generally well-maintained, but be cautious of any gravel sections. Upon reaching the designated area, you will find a parking lot available for your convenience.

• Public Transportation

  To travel by public transport, take a bus service from Blenheim to Havelock. The journey typically takes around 40 minutes. Once you arrive in Havelock, you can either walk to Cullen Point Lookout, which is about a 1-hour walk (5 kilometers) from the town center, or you can arrange for a local taxi service, which may cost around NZD 20-30 to take you directly to the lookout.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk from Havelock to Cullen Point Lookout, exit the town heading northeast on Cullen Point Road. The path is moderately steep, so ensure you're wearing comfortable walking shoes. It’s advisable to carry some water and snacks for the journey, and allow yourself about an hour to reach the lookout. The scenic views along the way make the hike worthwhile.
