Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Masterton town center, head east on Queen Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Dixon Street. Turn left onto Dixon Street and walk for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Chapel Street. Follow Chapel Street as it turns into the Masterton-Carterton Road (State Highway 2). Keep walking straight for approximately 5 kilometers. You will see signs for Fensham Reserve on your left. Follow the path leading into the reserve.

  • Bicycle

    Starting from the Masterton town center, take Queen Street east. When you reach the intersection with Dixon Street, turn left. Follow Dixon Street for about 1.5 kilometers until you get to the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Chapel Street. Continue on Chapel Street, which will eventually merge into Masterton-Carterton Road (State Highway 2). After about 5 kilometers, you will see the entrance to Fensham Reserve on your left. There are bike racks available at the entrance for parking your bicycle.

    From Masterton town center, you can catch a bus that heads towards Carterton. Look for the bus stop near the Masterton Library on Queen Street. The bus routes vary, so check the current schedule for the best option to Carterton. Once you arrive in Carterton, disembark at the Carterton town center stop. From there, it's about a 20-minute walk to Fensham Reserve. Head south on High Street, then turn onto the Masterton-Carterton Road and walk for about 2 kilometers until you see the signs for Fensham Reserve on your right.
