Walking
From Nelson city centre, start at the Nelson i-SITE Visitor Information Centre located at 74 Trafalgar Street. Head east on Trafalgar Street towards Hardy Street. Continue straight onto Rutherford Street. At the intersection, turn right onto Bridge Street. Follow Bridge Street until it becomes Atawhai Drive. Continue along Atawhai Drive for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach Founders Heritage Park at 87 Atawhai Drive. The park will be on your left.

Public Transport (Bus)
From Nelson city centre, walk to the Nelson Bus Station located on Halifax Street. Take the bus route that goes towards Atawhai. The bus operators include Nelson Tasman Public Transport. Get off at the stop closest to Founders Heritage Park, which is typically the stop on Atawhai Drive. From there, it’s a short walk to the entrance of the park at 87 Atawhai Drive.

Bicycle
If you are renting a bicycle, start from the city centre and head towards the waterfront. Follow the cycle path along the waterfront, then connect to Atawhai Drive. Ride on Atawhai Drive for about 1.5 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Founders Heritage Park at 87 Atawhai Drive, which will be on your left.
