Walking
If you are in Nelson city center, start by heading southeast on Trafalgar Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Hardy Street. Turn left onto Hardy Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Bridge Street. Turn right onto Bridge Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with The Wood. Turn left onto The Wood Street and walk straight for about 10 minutes. The Miyazu Japanese Garden will be on your right, just before you reach the intersection with Emano Street.

Public Transport
From Nelson city center, head to the nearest bus stop on Trafalgar Street. Catch the bus that goes to The Wood area. Make sure to check the bus schedule for timings. Once onboard, stay on the bus until you reach the stop closest to The Wood. After getting off, walk along The Wood Street for approximately 5 minutes, and you will find Miyazu Japanese Garden on your left.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Nelson. Start from the city center and head towards Trafalgar Street. Follow the same route as walking - continue on Trafalgar Street, turn left onto Hardy Street, then right onto Bridge Street. As you approach The Wood, keep an eye out for bike lanes. Once on The Wood, the Miyazu Japanese Garden will be on your right after about a 10-minute cycle ride.
