Walking
If you are starting from the Nelson i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 74 Trafalgar Street, exit the building and head south towards Trafalgar Street. Turn left onto Trafalgar Street and walk for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with Hardy Street. Continue straight onto Hardy Street. After you cross the intersection with Bridge Street, keep walking until you reach the intersection with the Queen's Gardens entrance on your right. The gardens are just a short walk down the path.

If you prefer to take public transport, locate the nearest bus stop along Trafalgar Street, where you'll find buses that head toward the central Nelson area. Take a bus that is heading to the Nelson central district and get off at the nearest stop to Hardy Street. From there, walk towards Hardy Street, and follow the same walking directions as mentioned above to reach Queen's Gardens.

For those who wish to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Nelson. Start from the rental location and head towards Trafalgar Street, then follow the same route as pedestrians. Biking along Hardy Street is safe and quite enjoyable, and you will find bike racks available at the entrance of Queen's Gardens.
