Walking
Start at the Nelson i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 74 Trafalgar Street. From the i-SITE, head north on Trafalgar Street towards the intersection with Hardy Street. Continue straight for approximately 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Bridge Street. Turn right onto Bridge Street and walk for about 150 meters until you reach the Maitai River. You will see a bridge ahead; cross this bridge. After crossing, you will find the entrance to Maitai Walkway on your left.

From Nelson's main bus stop located on the corner of Trafalgar Street and Selwyn Place, catch the local bus service that heads towards the Maitai Valley.
